With six different Hotel packages there are plenty of options, including First Serve (3/11-3/13), Aces Weekend (3/13-3/15), Champions (3/16-3/19), Final Four Days (3/19-3/22), Advantage Weekend (3/20-3/22) and Masters Week (3/15-3/22). Each package affords fans 11 different hotel properties to choose from, including four properties that are only minutes from the venue – Renaissance Esmeralda, Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa, La Quinta Resort & Club, and Homewood Suites by Hilton La Quinta. Indian Wells Tennis Garden wins USTA facility awards - 07.23.2014

The Indian Wells Tennis Garden, home to the BNP Paribas Open and the world's second-largest tennis stadium, won the highest honor for a facility bestowed by the United States Tennis Association on Tuesday, the 2014 Featured Facility.

The Tennis Garden also was recognized as one of 12 winners of the USTA's Outstanding Facility Awards Program.

"We are honored that the USTA has selected the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for this award, as it reflects our owner Larry Ellison's vision for this facility," tournament CEO Ray Moore said in a statement. "Our goal is to continue to deliver an unparalleled experience for our members, the USTA players that compete at the facility throughout the year, and of course the players and fans at the BNP Paribas Open."

Representatives will be honored during the upcoming U.S. Open at the USTA Awards Breakfast on Sept. 1, during the association's semi-annual meeting. The award recognizes one facility from all those that meet the criteria for a facility award. The "featured facility" exemplifies the highest level of excellence in facility design, court construction, court amenities and other related components, such as strong programming and implementation of 10 and Under Tennis.

"The Indian Wells Tennis Garden has embraced many of our initiatives, including youth tennis utilizing 36- and 60-foot courts, introducing thousands of new players to the sport each year," said Kurt Kamperman, USTA's chief executive of community tennis. "It is outstanding tennis facilities like the Indian Wells Tennis Garden that help us grow the game at the grass-roots level, and for that reason and so much more, we are proud to recognize Indian Wells for its ongoing impact and contribution to the sport of tennis."

The Indian Wells Tennis Garden opened in 2000 and features a 16,100-seat stadium that makes it the second largest to Arthur Ashe Stadium of the U.S. Open. The stadium also has 44 stadium suites, broadcast and media facilities and an 8,000-square-foot food commissary.

This year, the Tennis Garden went through a multimillion-dollar renovation that included a new 8,000-seat stadium with three gourmet restaurants.

Each March, the Tennis Garden hosts the BNP Paribas Open, considered the fifth major. This year's event drew 431,000 fans.

INDIO, CALIF. -- (Oct. 14, 2013) Join us for another farm tour adventure with Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI), Palm Springs as we explore the east valley’s agricultural treasures to find out “what’s growing on” this fall.

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, the Fall Farm Tour departs promptly at 8 a.m. from Shields Date Garden, 80225 Highway 111 at Jefferson, Indio.

Discover the bounty of fall row crops such as bell peppers, carrots, onions, eggplant, artichokes and tomatoes, and some of the tree crops such as dates, lemons, oranges and grapefruit – crops that have made the Coachella Valley famous.

You’ll have a chance to see Burrtec’s expanded compost recycling facility and learn how compost is made from commercial and residential green waste.  Next, you’ll see how compost is used to promote water conservation and provide soil nutrients on such crops as table grapes, citrus and date trees as we tour Blair Farms.

Learn how the Coachella Valley Water District brings water from the All American Canal to farms and urban areas when we visit the control room at the district headquarters in Coachella.  Then, we’ll actually see the pump stations, canals and drip irrigation that puts the Coachella Valley on the cutting edge with high-tech water conservation methods used in farming.

Watch a harvest in progress and learn what it takes to grow, harvest and ship major crops like bell peppers, artichokes, and carrots when we visit with one of the valley’s larger growers, Desert Mist General Manager Adrian Zendejas, out in the fields.   


If you’ve never been on a farm tour, here’s your chance to see the sights from a luxury bus and learn from an experienced, professional Coachella Valley tour guide, Nancy Cohee, about the valley’s history, some Indian lore, geography and geo-thermal points of interest, as well as farming practices.

Even if you’ve been on the tour before, you’ll always see and learn something new.

At the end of the tour, enjoy a farm-to-table buffet at the Café at Shields that will include many of the vegetables and fruits you have just seen growing.

First Objet Trouvé Found Art Festival Added this Year!

INDIAN WELLS, CA – (Oct. 11, 2013) Celebrating its 12th year at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, the Indian Wells Arts Festival – where Art is a Happening - will be held April 4 through 6, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; gates close at 4 p.m.  More than 200 juried artists will be on hand to show, demonstrate and sell artwork including paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass, photography, fine jewelry and crafts. 

New at the festival this year will be the Coachella Valley’s first-ever Objet Trouvé Found Art Festival, creating a Festival of Festivals. Objet Trouvé is the idea of using everyday objects and ‘found’ materials to create stimulating works of art. 

In the tradition of Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Juan Gris and Georges Braque, 50 artists will exhibit and create one-of-a-kind objet trouvé artworks for sale. The Objet Trouvé Found Art Festival will construct a 20-foot replica of Paris’ Eiffel Tower incorporating found materials.

Indian Wells, Calif., February 21, 2013 – The Indian Wells Tennis Garden, home of the BNP Paribas Open, the most-attended ATP World Tour and WTA tennis tournament in the world, unveiled expansion plans targeted for the 2014 tournament, it was announced by Raymond Moore, chief executive officer.

The plans, which were approved today by the City of Indian Wells, include a permanent Stadium 2 that will feature 8,000 seats and two restaurants, a marquee site entrance on Washington Street with a new box office, a new 19,000 square foot shade structure identical to the one built in 2012, four additional practice courts, expansion of the current Miles Street entrance, an upgraded valet and accessible parking area on the north side, an additional grass parking space for up to 2,000 cars and expansion and relocation of the TV Production compound.

These expansion plans build upon changes the tournament made the past few years including becoming the only tournament in the world to have the Hawkeye Challenge System on all match courts, increasing total prize money to more than $11 Million, installing a 19,000 sq. ft. shade structure to the Tennis Garden Village, adding additional seating to outer courts and practice courts and placing numerous video walls and information towers throughout the site. All of the enhancements are designed to create an incomparable venue to enjoy world-class tennis while also delivering a relaxing atmosphere between matches.

“We are extremely excited about our expansion, and thrilled that the City of Indian Wells has approved our plans,” said Moore. “Larry Ellison’s vision for this tournament has been nothing short of incredible, and the innovations and enhancements he has put forth have benefitted fans and players alike. These tournament-specific changes will continue to put this facility on par with the best in the world, deliver an unparalleled experience for fans and ultimately make the BNP Paribas Open better than ever before.”
