A Word From the Mayor
Breathtaking views. Amazing golf courses. Fantastic hotels. Terrific restaurants. These are a few of the shining comments our visitors have relayed to me during their stay in our extraordinary resort City of Indian Wells, California.
Whether you are planning a visit or have already arrived, it is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to our desert oasis in Southern California. I’m confident that you’ll find our little oasis called Indian Wells equally as captivating as our previous visitors; so much so, that you will never want to leave. (In fact, many current residents first discovered the qualities of Indian Wells while vacationing with us.)
Let me give you some of the reasons why Indian Wells is so special.
For one thing, it’s the phenomenal array of year-round recreational activities like golf, tennis, swimming, hiking, biking and more – all of which promote a vibrant and healthy lifestyle. If golf is your sport of choice, playing one of our city-owned championship golf courses at the Indian Wells Golf Resort is a must. Our two 18-hole courses were recently featured on the “Big Break” golf challenge. This award-winning golf facility is also home to the acclaimed IW Club Restaurant & Bar and while it may look private, it is open to the public. You will enjoy the finest in dining while listening to top entertainers surrounded by a museum-worthy art collection.
If you love tennis, you have found the perfect spot. We are home to the third largest tennis tournament in the world, The BNP Paribas Open is held annually at the incomparable Indian Wells Tennis Garden in March of each year. When you come, be sure to bring your racquet to play on one of many state-of-the-art courts at the Tennis Gardens.
Need to unwind? It’s a breeze in Indian Wells. Lounge in the sun by a sparkling pool at one of our four luxurious hotels, indulge yourself with a massage in an elegant spa, take a fun desert adventure, and simply soak in the sights and sounds of one of the most peaceful and serene destinations on Earth.
